Digital nomad residence — D.3
The Government still publishes a dedicated D.3 page. What follows is that page, in English.
Source: D.3. Residència per a nòmada digital — Govern d’Andorra. Financial means are “those set by regulation”. If the official page changes, use that page.
What the Government says D.3 is
D.3 authorises the holder to reside in Andorra for the life of the authorisation. It may be requested, under current law, by a newcomer whose work does not require a fixed geographic location and who uses telecommunications and technology, and who:
- comes within the quota then set by regulation;
- establishes principal and effective residence in Andorra for at least 90 days per calendar year (the figure is on the official page).
How long the official page says it lasts
The initial residence authorisation is granted for two years; the first renewal for two years; the second for three years; later renewals for ten years, except for nationals of states that have signed and ratified a convention with Andorra. That is the Government’s wording on 29 August 2026. Confirm it on the live page.
Documents listed (non-exhaustive)
The official list is expressly “enunciative and not limiting”. It includes, among other items:
- the completed residence-without-work application;
- passport, or for EU/EEA nationals a national identity card;
- criminal-record certificates from the country of origin, of nationality and of residence, plus a sworn declaration;
- a recent colour photograph to the stated format;
- a favourable resolution from the ministry responsible for the economy qualifying the person as someone whose work needs no fixed location and uses telecommunications and technology;
- evidence of owning or renting a habitable dwelling, or of having started a purchase that must complete within one year of the residence application;
- civil-status documents as listed on the page;
- a written commitment to the 90-day presence and to keeping insurance in force;
- sufficient economic means as set by regulation, for the applicant and dependants;
- illness and incapacity cover for Andorra for the life of the residence (the page states a narrower illness-only cover for minors and for people over sixty);
- Comú registration within one month of the grant, and medical-review papers.
Foreign official documents must carry a Hague apostille or be otherwise legalised. That sentence is on the same page.
